Personal Interests

When not taking care of his patients, Dr. Weaver likes to spend time with his family, attending their gymnastics and dance events. In addition, he loves to travel and seek out new restaurants. In addition, he tries to keep active and has participated in numerous 5K races.

Biography

Dr. Leon Weaver is a Pediatrician at Antietam Pediatric and Adolescent Care where he has been providing compassionate and high-quality care for his patients since 2001. He strives to give patients the care they deserve and in a manner that is appreciated. Dr. Weaver loves working with pediatric patients and tailors his practice style towards them.

Dr. Weaver has always enjoyed working with kids. Prior to entering medical school, he taught high school science in Prince George’s County, MD. After 2 years of teaching, he then entered Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC, and obtained his medical degree. He then completed his Pediatric Residency, also through Howard University College of Medicine, where he received awards for being an outstanding Resident. Upon completion of his residency training, he joined Antietam Pediatric and Adolescent Care and has been happily providing care here since.

Since coming to Hagerstown, Dr. Weaver has been involved with the local healthcare community. He has been on staff initially at Washington County Hospital now Meritus Medical Center. Through the hospital, he has worked in the Special Care Nursery, is a past Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, and has served on a number of hospital committees as well. In addition, he served as the Medical Director of the school nurse program for Washington County Public Schools.
